A Turning Point in History? Why This Month Feels So Unprecedented

Talk about an unforgettable start of the year. I’ve had to re-write this as news trickle in to soften the language because I rather prepare my audience than add to the confusion and panic.
Like I said in the 2025 Tarot Spread, 2025 isn’t the year for a new beginning, but for completion. A phrase that has recently gained popularity whenever a shocking event occurs is that people are witnessing “the final season of the United States.” While I can’t say whether that’s entirely accurate, it reflects the sentiment that struggles in this country seem to be reaching a fever pitch. This year will feel like a writer rushing to finish a book that’s already past its deadline — chaotic.
What will become clear is that we’re transitioning on several fronts — technology, weapons, propaganda to mention a few. The textbooks won’t apply for long. Think of the last war fought with horses (World War II). Did they know that it would be the last time? That humanity never went back to fighting the same way? That’s the scale of transformation ahead. And January will be hinting at this.
The Nodal Shift & Global Reckoning
With the lunar nodes shifting from Aries to Pisces, we move from themes of individualism and force to spirituality and surrender — but surrender doesn’t mean passivity. We will be forced to cooperate, and communities will be the cornerstone of survival. We’re already seeing this in political shakeups, as deep divisions lead to unexpected alliances.
To put it lightly (out of necessity), this month we will witness political events unlike anything before. Constitutional limits will be tested. International entities will break agreements. Leaders will rise and fall overnight. Keep your eyes on NATO.
It’s a Weird Month, Folks
The first week of January sets the tone for the rest of the year. I won’t go too deeply into this, but take a peek at the headlines and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
For the rest of the month…
Expect a very strange Inauguration Day, marked by unexpected events.
Freezing temperatures and seismic activity (earthquakes, mudslides, and issues with mountains).
Floods, heavy rain, and/or levee damage.
Oil and/or toxic material spill
Concerns about radiation
An airborne illness or virus emerges
Issues with a ship … whether a cruise liner, military vessel, or cargo ship…might as well add “alien ship” to the list of possibilities to keep with the bizarre theme
Stay Afloat
In times of uncertainty, focus on how you can stay afloat. You can still have a rich inner world amidst global chaos. It’s jarring and something out of Black Mirror, sure, but we owe it to ourselves to fill up on small victories and daily pleasures.
The word for January 2025 is bizarre — but those who cultivate resilience and adaptability will navigate it best.

Card 1: Inner World — What is happening beneath the surface? Your subconscious, intuition, or personal growth. Also, with so much chaos this month, taking care of your inner world through meditation will be helpful.
Card 2: Outer World — How external circumstances are affecting your stability. Maybe too much doomscrolling will lead bad sleep. An event in a different city might lead to you cancelling your travel plans. Etc.
Card 3: Your emotions in January — What feelings will surface this month? And how to approach them.
Card 4: Your mental health in January — How is your mindset? What thoughts are shaping your experience? And should it change or remain the same?
Card 5: How to adapt to change — A strategy or perspective that helps you move with the tides rather than resist them.
Card 6: Work & routine — What structure or habits will sustain you? The show must go on. You still need to go to work, pay bills, stay healthy. This card will let you know if there’s anything you need to pay attention to here.
Card 7: Financial security — How to maintain material stability during unpredictable times?
Card 8: Community & relationships — Who or what will be your anchor in times of need? Or will you be the anchor for others?
Card 9: Your greatest strength — The skill or quality that keeps you steady through turbulent times. We all have strength.
Card 10: The challenge ahead — The storm you will navigate and how to prepare.
Card 11: Divine guidance — A message from your higher self, guides, or intuition.
Card 12: Where the winds are taking you — The direction life is steering you toward in January 2025.
I’m not going to lie and tell you that the world will be sunshine and rainbows if you “jump timelines” or whatever science fiction terminology some new agers have picked up this month. This month will be bizarre. This is what I’ve been hinting at since last September. But now we’re here, in the thick of it. “The only way out is through.” We might as well grit our teeth and keep going until chaos subsides.
