Practical money spells anyone can try to bring in extra cash and blessings.
Among practitioners, there’s a divide on when the new month begins. Some people follow the calendar months, but more astrology-savvy practitioners recognize the New Moon as the mark of the new month. Well, the New Moon in Scorpio is on November 1, so the arguments can cease for this month, at least.
Like bills, rent, and direct deposits, months and moons are cyclical. This is why monthly money magick is a helpful practice.
In the past year, there’s been a trend among social media witches to blow cinnamon into their homes through the front door to attract money that month.
It’s cute but messy. I haven’t seen bigger influencers explain why they’re using cinnamon or what additional steps people should take to improve the chances of the spell working. Intention isn’t everything, but it’s still a necessary component for any spell or manifestation.
With Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping looming, everyone could use more money in their pocket. This is why I’m showing you three ingredients to use to attract money easily. You don’t have to be an experienced witchcraft practitioner for any of these methods, although it helps. The examples below are for anybody.
But first, here are a couple of things to keep in mind.
Specify how you want money to come. Do you know how you can make more money? By working overtime. Or working two to three jobs.
If you don’t specify how you want money to arrive, the universe will choose the easiest path to make it happen. If you’re not actively seeking a new job or working on a side hustle, the money may arrive as overtime. In some extreme cases, people are fired because the universe needs to force them to find a better-paying job.
In the same vein, specify where the money should come from (work, games of chance, side hustle, etc). This is to avoid the negative ways that money can come to you, like the death of a family member or winning a lawsuit after a life-altering injury.
Specify a time frame. You can ask for more money, but the money may arrive in a year or two if you don’t give it a time frame. Technically, if you work consistently all year, you will make more money…and spend it before you notice it. This makes it easier for the universe to deliver on your spell because nothing has to change. You just keep working, and technically, you will have made more money.
Specify how much money you want. Again, the universe will take the laziest path to give you what you want. It’s like a tricky genie. If you do a spell for “more money” and find a dollar on the sidewalk an hour later, the spell technically worked. Work out the exact amount you need. List out all the ways you’re going to spend it.
BE SPECIFIC!
INGREDIENTS
As you’ll see, these ingredients have uses outside of money spells. This is why you need to instruct the ingredients to bring money. Before using it in a spell, hold the ingredient in your hand and talk to it how you would talk to a real person standing next to you. For example: “Bring me an extra $1,000 on Venmo to spend on Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas gifts by Monday, November 18 at 7:00 AM.”
CINNAMON
Cinnamon has many uses, but for the sake of this article, we’re going to focus on success and abundance. It’s used in money spells to successfully attract an abundance of money, but it can be used to attract an abundance of anything — opportunities, attention, swipes on Tinder, cookies in the cookie jar, etc. For the same reason, you can use cinnamon in baneful work to have your target attract an abundance of bad luck, loss, and failure. If you’re going to use cinnamon, specify that you want an abundance of money.
You can blow it through your door on the first of the month, like the rest of TikTok.
Pour cinnamon over your hands, rub your hands together, and then wash your hands. Keeping your intention in the center of your mind the entire time.
Add cinnamon to your oatmeal or coffee in the morning, maintaining your intention throughout the entire meal or drink.
Bonus: coffee is great for speeding up a spell. You can also add coffee to your cinnamon handwash.
CHAMOMILE
Chamomile can be used to bring luck, draw money, and create a peaceful environment. For this reason, I like to use it to draw money in “easily” and “peacefully.”
Because it’s associated with luck, chamomile is great when you’re trying to make money gambling (from a lottery ticket to the casino).
Sprinkle of chamomile into your wallet.
Wash your hands with chamomile (the herbs or the tea). This is especially useful if you’re using your hands to make money (like poker but also massaging or woodwork).
Make chamomile tea, pray over it with your intention, and drink.
Bonus, use honey in your tea. Honey can be used to draw in money in “sweet” ways like your boyfriend Venmo-ing you $500 just because (trust me, ahem). Honey is also sticky, so it’s good if your spell is meant to create a long-term and sustainable stream of income. However, think of how honey moves. It is slow. Do not use honey if you need money immediately.
INCORPORATE WATER
The energy of money is associated with water. For evidence of this, examine the vocabulary we use to describe money:
BANK— like a water bank
Cash FLOW
STREAMS of income
DROWNING in debt
Making it RAIN
LIQUID assets
The idea is that money is fluid. When you’re spending money, it’s a person-to-person or account-to-account transaction. Like energy, money needs to flow (keep moving). If you need money, it’s because you need to spend it on something. It’s meant to flow through your hands.
This is why handwashing with specific herbs is so powerful.
DRINK WATER
Hey, have you drank water today? Get on that. Before you take a sip, talk to your water.
There are two ways you can use water for money. The first way is to use it like an herb — by giving it instructions. Since water flows to and fro, you can tell it to bring you money. This would be a spell.
At the same time, water is reflective. You can use it to manifest (different from a spell) money by using present-tense money affirmations. For example:
I have $10,000 in fun money
I am wealthy
Money is attracted to me
I welcome large sums of money into my life regularly
Everything I spend comes back to me threefold
I am a money magnet
Speak your spell or manifestation into your water, then drink it. Repeat your phrase before each sip.
FOUNTAINS
Place a fountain next to your front door. Another way to promote this positive flow of money energy is to have a small fountain next to your front door. This isn’t just advised in Western money magick, but also in Feng Shui.
Fountains mirror the flow of money energy. Keeping it next to your door welcomes the money into your home.
BATHROOMS
Clean your bathroom. Another belief similar to Feng Shui is to clean your bathroom. You have three water features in your bathroom: the toilet, the sink, and the shower. Stagnant energy in your bathroom (because it hasn’t been cleaned in a while), means stagnant money energy. If your bathroom is pristine, you will also have a positive flow of money energy.
Keep the toilet seat shut and close it before flushing to prevent money from going down with it (and it’s just more sanitary that way).
There’s so much more I could mention, but I want to keep this easy for non-practitioners.
A theme you may have noticed in all of these is the importance of speaking to the ingredients you’re using. There’s a psychological component to this. When you’re stressed about money, all you can think of is how much you need it. You may not have sat down and thought about the specifics — how can I make more money, exactly how much do I need, what would I spend money on if money was no object? Declaring your wants and needs to the universe is also declaring your wants and needs to yourself. And that in itself is powerful. Because, believe it or not, there are people too scared to look up their bank account and see how much money they have left.
I hope this helps someone out there!
